Our Marathon Week!

This week has proved to be a Marathon. Monday and Tuesday I ended up staying late at work and Paul had tons of teacher meetings. They were quite stressful and really needed God's hand to be with him. God was faithful. Wednesday we had our Kindergarten Tea. I was able to meet Joelle's teacher and ask questions as well as meet a few other parents. (Paul already knows the teachers.) Thursday worked late, picked up girls, picked up Avon, got cleaned up and then dinner. At 6pm it was Back To School night at PCA. Paul's big night. He was so nervous and it was really hot so the sweating was understandable. He did such a great job, I am so proud of him. This was basically the time that Paul was introducing himself as the VP. Many people were excited and then there are always those who aren't. Anyways Paul is just being obedient to what God has called him to do. I am so thankful for this part of Paul.
Then we went to our kids classrooms and met with the teachers and picked up our handbook. I really think this year will be good for the girls.
Friday was almost as busy. Joelle wasn't feeling 100% so I took her and Kora to CTK. Lily had a pool party at daycare and then we had a cousin's b-day pool party at 3pm. We left and were exhausted. Were the word from Paul mouth when I returned home. But now where? Chinese was the outcome and ice cream from rite aide. Movie to relax and then to bed. I am so thankful that this is a 3 day weekend.
Maybe one more day to recoupe from this week!

The Dr's? Again?

We have been battling some kind of bug here. I first went to my Dr. (regular exam), then Kora had her eyes checked, then Paul needed to see the Dr, and Kora had her Orthodontic appointment (set-up chart), then Lily needed to see the Dr. All within 2 weeks. Oh and then the prescriptions on top of that. Our check book is going to go crazy. But with that said, I feel pretty blessed to be able to go to the Dr and not have to pay full price. I feel confident that they are good Dr's and they will treat us with respect and not harm us. I am so thankful that we have access to these luxuries.
I am also thankful that my Kora does not have fibromatosis. This could cause tumors in her brain. With the eye exam it was ruled out!!! Praise GOD!
All our other cases were merely sickness (cold, sinuses, rash, fever, and so on).

Saying Good Bye for Now

Last night dear, dear friends of ours left for Africa. They are truly going to be missed. Many, many blessing to you as you travel across the globe and minister to so many dear children of God. Thank you for being willing to be right in the middle of God's will for your lives.
I will miss Jen's great encouragement and her incredible insight into the dealings of the Spirit. I have to say I will miss Kaylie too. Her sweet spirit and adorable smile will surely be missed by me and my daughters. Troy and his quirky self will be a great absence to our children's ministry and by my husband who counts him as one of his few close friends. May God bless you deeply and bring many blessing through you!

Tires!!!!

Our tires were a bit low so I had Paul fill them up before we left for the beach!!!

Tuesday BEFORE we even leave for the Beach

Eatting breakfast before we leave.
Foster wanted to be with too! Paul was making sandwiches. I tried to post a crazy picture of me, but it kept going sidways. Not my best choice. So we are almost ready to leave and my camera shows an error. I know it is the lens, as we have had this problem before, but why now. I was doing so good about taking pictures.

Mountains Part 2

Once we arrived in Big Bear, Joelle said, "Is this it?" She must have been expecting something really grand! It is really quaint instead. We stopped at the park by the lake. Pine Knot.
It was where Paul took mye on our second date. He had made a wonderful picnic lunch and we sat by the lake talking. We then walked the village then drove home.
Enough with the muchy stuff. We then drove home and had dinner at Rubios in Redlands.
Kora had her soccer meeting at 7pm. It looks like she will have a great fall in soccer.
So much for Monday.

Our Mountain Experience! Part 1

We drove to our local San Bernardino Mountains on Monday. We left after lunch. I first got a pedicure and manicure. (I feel like a wealthy woman being able to do that.) SO all beautiful we drove to the mountains. We are going camping in Sept. and we wanted to take a look at what was in our options. We first stopped at Seven Oaks. This brought back many memories for me. As a child we would go fishing and have picnic lunches here. We also have camped here with my grandparents. It was fun to see it as an adult now. The campground was really nice. It had green grass and close to the river, but it was also really close to the road. I was not to impressed with that.
Then we ventured off road. The girls were a bit nervous about going where they had never been. We went for a while and then turned around. It was beautiful. There were huge clouds that just dumped a bit of rain and the air was full of the smell. I love that.
Next we headed toward Big Bear. We stopped at Heart Bar to check out the camping. We thought it looked like our style. I will later book this one.

still more

Then we had the best luch ever!!!!! After lunch we ventured to Victoria Garden to se My sister, Aunt Tea. We drove arond forever to find a parking spot, until we got one. We walked to see Tea and she hadn't clocked in yet so we were able to visit for a few minutes. It was great too see her. I was going to take a picture, but I forgot. Then we went to Borders. We all got lost in the books for about an hour. Then we left for home. Paul and I were able to fit in a little date, thanks to my mom and dad who so graciously said yes. Thanks mom and dad. Paul and I were able to steal away for a few short hours of quite time. I was able to study for Bible study and Paul was able to get some organizing done too. Then we picked up the girls and put them to bed. Good Night Moon, God Night Cow jumping over the Moon.

SB County Museum

The first Sunday of the month is FREE. That is all we needed to hear and we couldn't wait to go. After church and donuts we finished the laundry, yes we didn't finish it yesterday. Then we left for the museum. Let me tell you that this museum is best when seen for free. It is tons of eggs and stuffed birds and animals. Here are some pictures of the family looking and a few of the animals.

Sunday, The Fun Continues

Our morning starts with church. Here is where K and L get picked up after Sunday School. We were hungry so because we are "on vacation" we bought a dozen dounuts. Joelle almost completle devored her second one, Well at lest the frosting is gone.

DQ

After a hard evening of bowling we headed off to Diairy Queen. We all get a cone and savored every mouthful. Paul even grabbed the camera to take one of me. I even posed!

Still more to see!

This has been the usual
view of Joelle. She has become quit the little temper thrower. Not to our approval, but this is a new opportunity to give disciple to help her grow. She will get it sooner than later. At least that's what we are praying for.

more fun!

For our next trick we washed the van. At least we paid to sit in the van while the new machine at the Alta Dena Diary did the washing. It really did do a pretty good job.
Once we ate an early dinner (4pm, we felt like senior citizens) we piled into the van and were off.

We went bowling at Del Rosa Bowl. They have this great deal. (We must be Dutch or something close.) You get a lane for 5 people for 2 hours (5pm-7pm) for $25. Really can't beat that, even the shoe rental is included. Yes even I bowled. Not really a great bowler, but fun anyhow.

We bought a drink!!!! You would have thought it was the greatest thing ever. The girls ran off the lane area and almost tackled Paul. Here they are 'sharing' the drink.
