Going to bed!

When I put my children in bed I expect them to stay there and fall asleep like little angels! Anyone that has children will understand that it is not so! In our home one generally stays in bed with the occasional bathroom trip, then the other two sometimes have issues. This last week has been a rough one for the girl that does not want to go to sleep. She has been getting out of bed numerous time each night, only to find non sympathetic parents. We have tried all form of discipline, spanking, yelling, threats, and now we have resorted to an earlier bed time. That way she does not interrupt the other sleeping princesses in the home.
This was the plan for this evening. We put her to bed 1/2 hour earlier and then watched as she promptly got out of bed 3 times before her sisters were put to bed. I think I shall go crazy!!!!!!! I'm not opposed to laying in bed for a while til they fall asleep, but for 1.25 hours after bedtime with many trips to the living room, kitchen (I'm thirsty), bathroom or anywhere she can think of? Once she does fall asleep she has a really hard time waking up in the morning and then makes the rest of the family late for school/work. Maybe I need to make her run a few laps around the house before bedtime. Really poop her out so to speak. Paul and I are sick of this behavior, and need to put a stop to it! Oh when, oh when will my sweet girls fall asleep?

Lately...

Lately, my thoughts have been toward summer. Paul and I have been thinking about a vacation. He needs to get out of town and he actually wants to take 4 girls with him. He must be crazy, but that is good. We have been toying with different ideas of where to go. San Diego, Flagstaff, AZ, San Francisco, Sacramento, June Lake, Lake Tahoe... We are still in negotiations and if you have any great ideas please feel free to share them. We have one week plus the weekend in July. We are cheap, fugal, or whatever you want to call it. But we do want to do the sights seeing things where ever we go.
